FRAGILE hosts Hard to Read's first event in Europe. « A tease that’s a bond, not a separation » is an evening of readings on beauty, disgust, tension, movement, and the moment. Featuring video contributions by artists Eoghan Ryan and Alix Van Der Donckt-Ferrand, alongside live shares by choreographer and artist Tarren Johnson, writer and artist Mahsa Saloor, musician Dan Bodan, and flower and fruit Trollina, a newborn persona who will read a series of letters on beauty (by Natasha Stagg, Fabian Martin, Torey Thornton, and more) co-curated by Hard to Read for Novembre's latest issue.
Texts will be available for sale, among them Novembre magazine, Pyre Fiction, and Alix Van Der Donckt-Ferrand's F/W'18-19 Ready-to-read by Hard to Read poetry zine, from which the title « A tease that’s a bond, not a separation » (words by Gerald Vizenor) was drawn.

Hard to Read (b. 2016) is a literary social practice that includes live events, radio and video broadcasts, publishing, book curation, and site-specific installations. « A tease that’s a bond, not a separation » is Hard to Read's 40th group reading, and its first outside of North America.
Alix Van Der Donckt-Ferrand (b. 1995) is an artist from Montreal. She celebrates life, funny things, connexion and disconnection. She is currently completing her BFA in Studio Arts at Concordia University.
Dan Bodan (b. 1985) is a musician, housekeeper and occasional writer living in Berlin. He has released music on DFA Records, composes copyleft music for Google, played concert halls throughout the world and has done residencies in Iran, Ukraine and Japan. He is currently working on a new album.
Eoghan Ryan (b. 1987) is an Irish artist who recently moved from Berlin to Amsterdam where he is in currently in residence at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten.
Fiona Alison Duncan (b. 1987) is a Canadian-American writer, artist, and organizer. She's the founding organizer of Hard to Read, and its affiliate projects: Pillow Talk and Ready-to-read by Hard to Read. Her first novel, Exquisite Mariposa, is forthcoming from Soft Skull press in fall 2019.
Mahsa Saloor (b. 1986) is an Iranian artist and writer. She completed an MFA in Fine Arts at the Städelschule. Her practice often deals with relationality, intimacy, and language.
Novembre (b. 2010) is is an online and biannually printed magazine that explores the worlds of art and fashion to challenge cultural trends and produce innovative imagery. Novembre is directed by its creators, Florian Joye (Lausanne), Florence Tétier (Paris) and Jeanne-Salomé Rochat (Berlin).
Tarren Johnson (b. 1990) is an American choreographer and artist. She works with performance, video, sculpture and writing.
Trollina (b. 2019) is a ripe TIAD model and foul Millennial.
